Quick easy way to fix a seized engine?

anyone have any ideas how to fix a 4 cylinder seized engine
My car just came out of the repair shop a few weeks ago, basically there was a oil pressure drop/compression or some crap like that
The mechanic replaced the rings (it was blowing smoke before it went in) i went to pick up the car and it seemed to be running fine then 30 mins later i was driving down the freeway but then noticed black smoke comming out the exhaust and it locked up,i pulled over and got roadside assistance but he said it had seized up, because there was about a 1ltr of oil in the bloody engine, the damn repair shop forget to fill it up idiots, anyway i heard WD40 and oil sprayed into the sparkys can realease the pistons, will this work or would it be better to get the cylinder rehoned, new rings etc...

its a Mitsubishi Cordia/ Tredia pretty oldskool but its been my project for a few years now...cheers

Sorry to hear about the fiasco mate. Unfortunately as an engine seizes it begins to melt the engine block and piston rings together. A heavy duty solvent may break apart the rings, but you will still have all this wonderful scoring all up and down your cylinder walls. Even if the engine has any compression after this maneuver, it will be CLAG-tastic(or as we americans say "a blue smoke machine").

In short, a seized engine needs to broken down, surfaces decked & cylinders honed and rebuilt correctly. It honestly maybe cheaper to find a used engine and do a swap. Then if you wish you can rebuild the seized donk and still have a running car.
